A lot of people interpret "losing our lives" and other such terms as merely symbolic. I think you are right. Many will be tested. It's easy to "live" for the One who died for us, but are we willing to die for the One who lived for us? Are we really willing to put our lives into His hands? Whatever the cost? Are we willing to examine our level of obedience?Sojournerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10559863067486906736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4186899053113509321.post-87344130141125332812010-09-17T01:51:47.407-05:002010-09-17T01:51:47.407-05:00Jennifer,

He is our life and breath; for without Him we can do nothing. But as long as we hold on to any of it, there will be less of Him.

Remember the story in Mark 10:17-22? The rich young man came to Jesus wanting eternal life, and Jesus told him to obey the law, to which the young man replied that he had indeed remembered the commandments. (Jesus was actually making him more aware of his sin nature that is brought to light through the law.) Jesus then told him to go and sell all that he had and give to the poor, and then said, "Take up your cross and follow Me." At that point the young man became very sad and greatly vexed, and he walked away from following Jesus. Jesus then stated that it was most hard for someone that trusts in their riches (and their stuff, plans, ambitions, etc.) to enter into the kingdom of God.

We must pick up our cross to follow after Jesus and His fullness. To carry a cross means we must die to it all, so that the life of Christ can be resurrected IN us. Remember, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a man to enter into the kingdom of God with all his baggage.Fr. Richard L. God gave us all He had in His only begotten Son. However, we all need more understanding in order to come to the knowledge (Gr. epignosis) of Christ. I was one of the first to receive it when it came out. Chip and I have been on the same track for several years concerning our theology and doctrine. He is one of the better teachers out there when it comes to understanding New Covenant vs. Old Conenant, and what it all means to those who believe in Jesus. Many times I have taught on a N.T. subject and discovered later that Chip taught on the same thing and in exactly the same vein. You will find Chip's teaching entitled "The Crisis of a Christless Christianity" down the page further in the Uprising blog. It is one of the best teachings I've ever read. The spirit outpoured, as happened in Acts chapter two, enables the saints to do mighty works, for in fact it is the Person of Jesus Christ dwelling in them that does these works, as Peter and John freely attested after the lame man had been healed through them. This is the Spirit outpoured.

On the other hand, the Holy Spirit also is the Spirit indwelt. Here is another precious work, that, through suffering, the brothers are transformed into the image of the First Born Brother, for which "all creation waits in eager anticipation". The fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, et al - these are the result of the Spirit indwelt.

Indeed, the hour is coming when no longer will we must needs choose between one or the other. For the elect, those who have seen the power of the cross, and who have not been offended, thw power of the indewlt and outpoured Spirit will be manifest. There will be those who still use the power without the intimate knowledge of Jesus. To those He will say, "Depart from me, I never knew thee". May those with ears to hear hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.Cross revealedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04194397529466008675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4186899053113509321.post-54216312778685574662009-08-08T22:31:03.989-05:002009-08-08T22:31:03.989-05:00As an under shepherd of the Lord Jesus Christ, one...As an under shepherd of the Lord Jesus Christ, one of my greatest responsibilities is to call people to repentance, not to a feel-good, "what about me", gospel. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If we are to ever see the manifest presence of God, we must repent! We must also come to the revelation of the mystery, that Christ dwells in us, and that He desires to be incarnate through us so that others know the hope of glory. Today's Christians seem to be a mile wide and an inch deep. Yet the love of God is infinite in its hight, width, depth, and breadth. In order to explore the infinite fullness of that love we must start at the place called repentance. Only then can we truly begin to let Christ be formed in us.Fr. Richard L. This blinds them an keeps them from doing anything good!

Excerpt:
“With scripture mixed with the teachings of men …. is True evil accomplished …for true evil …is evil masked in good.”

Pastor’s have an evil seed in their souls, this deception about their role. This seed has taken root and causes much destruction. This destruction will continue thru a Pastor’s career until they start really seeking and listening God; until they really start seeking the Truth. This virus blinds them from seeing their sin (the pride selfishness and greed and it’s consequences). They can not see that they are stealing form God’s flock. They can not see the death and destruction that this causes.

If they were truly seeking God, seeking his will, building on his word, following his Holy Spirit they would know that they are sinning, they could see the devastation of their work and they would repent. Unfortunately the are relying more on what their teacher told them, than on what God’s Word and his Holy Spirt are trying to tell them. Remember All scripture, not just the easy parts, is God Breathed and good for rebuking correcting…

What’s Really Going on?

Today’s Pastors have been given a corrupt view of their roles in the church. They’ve totally lost the concept of the leader as the slave. They’ve ignored Paul’s tentmaker example in favor of a paid priesthood. They’ve abandoned the believer gathering command in 1 Cor 14 along with its warnings. They’ve never followed Jesus example of washing the feet of those he led.

http://thebigpicmin.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/pastoral-virus/

I think this tearing down of the old structures, this destruction of babylon the great hoar is set for 2012!

God Bless
Glenn

thebigpicmin.wordpress.comGlennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13291352741723315016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4186899053113509321.post-31650547546661628582009-07-10T06:37:49.907-05:002009-07-10T06:37:49.907-05:00The death of Christianity will not be the result o...The death of Christianity will not be the result of everyone rejecting the Gospel, but the result of everyone accepting a watered-down version of it.

Could not have been better said. Alas, many have taken this truth and morphed it into a crossless theology for the believer. True, I can not bear the penalty of my sin - but that is not to say I have no cross to bear. Jesus plainly told me if I would follow Him there would be a cross for me. And my cross is always one of denial of self, not of religious zeal.
